Service Description

Industry Specific Advanced Blood Borne Pathogen Training (Tier II) $10+/person - group and organizational rates available. In Tier II we build upon the lessons in Tier I by breaking our audience into groups related to their professional demographic. Within these groups, practical and emergency situations that are applicable to each profession are reviewed collectively by the class in an interactive format. Breakout groups are always led by individuals with experience in like professions while being experts within infectious disease. These presentations of personal experiences from our experts are collectively formatted into concise, take-home messages to reinforce why participants are being asked to behave as directed in their ECP or to identify residual risks within the ECP. Prerequisite • Tier I is a prerequisite Program Rewards • Gold Certificate of Completion (1-year expiration) • Gold Virtual Badge (1-year expiration) • Gold Physical Badge or Workstation Placard that provides QR code to describe your training (1-year expiration) Program Specifics • ~60-90 minutes in length, including Q&A • Required for Research and Clinical Laboratories, Meets OSHA’s Requirement for Annual Training for individuals working in an HIV and HBV Research Laboratory (up to (A)BSL4) • Highly suggested for Professionals with increased likelihood to BBP Exposure • After completing the course • Non-laboratory workers will understand • Exposure identification, control, post-exposure procedures • How to avoid unfortunate circumstances experienced previously by others by implementing effective controls • Effective and safe spill response • Effective potential sharps, needle, and glass handling practices • Laboratory workers will understand • Facility and behavioral requirements • Requirements with labeling of hazards • Requirements for workplace controls when performing manipulations with bloodborne pathogens • Effective and safe spill response • Effective and safe sharps practices
