Bloodborne Pathogens

In the United States (U.S.) employees with job-related exposure to blood or bodily fluids require annual training regarding Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) (e.g. HIV, Hepatitis B Virus, Hepatitis C Virus). BioRisk Reduction brings infectious disease professionals to you virtually!

Unlike other BBP training courses, BioRisk Reduction training courses are not automated video sets. BioRisk Reduction closely follows OSHA requirements by providing infectious disease experts to lead interactive BBP sessions virtually. 
We bring multiple experts to provide tailor made training packages to a variety of audiences and provide ample opportunities to ask questions and interact during sessions. Throughout the training our facilitators provide practical analogies and visual aids. Our training is comprehensive and designed to meet the needs of all professionals from preschool teachers to PhD’s working in maximum containment laboratories or healthcare providers. We can do this effectively by introducing biosafety at an accessible level with comprehensive education specific to your industry for the inherent and residual risks within your workplace.

 

We also provide consulting to businesses and groups of individuals concerned about
the spread of COVID due to occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2. We work with
everyone on any topic pertaining to infectious disease!

What is the difference between the Tiers?

Basic Bloodborne Pathogens and Biosafety Training Course (Tier I)

In Tier I we teach our audience about the basics of occupational risks due to BBP. Within all Tiers of our BBP course our audience is led by an infectious disease expert(s) with experience teaching how to mitigate the risks of exposures to BBP.

  • After 3-years of consecutive completion the Certificate will be updated to silver

  • Bronze Virtual Badge and Physical Badge

Industry Specific Advanced Blood Borne Pathogen Training (Tier II)

In Tier II we build upon the lessons in Tier I by breaking our audience into groups related to their professional demographic. Within these groups, practical and emergency situations that are applicable to each profession are reviewed collectively by the class in an interactive format. Breakout groups are always led by individuals with experience in like professions while being experts within infectious disease. These presentations of personal experiences from our experts are collectively formatted into concise, take-home messages to reinforce why participants are being asked to behave as directed in their ECP or to identify residual risks within the ECP.

    Annual Training for individuals working in an HIV and HBV Research

    Laboratory (up to (A)BSL4)

Bloodborne Pathogens Facilitator Training (Tier III)

 

$75/person - group and organizational rates available.

Tier III is for future BBP facilitators in their respective workplaces. Within this course, our audience learns how to be an effective facilitator of a BBP program at their place of employment, which includes both record keeping and infectious disease knowledge.


Future facilitators will be armed to inform their employer about whether their workplace's U.S. Code of Federal Regulation Mandated ECP is satisfactory with regulatory requirements.

• Expertise in infectious disease control (Master’s degree level, professional

experience, or a combination of these)
